Advanced Precision Machining

Expanding customer base

[August 13th, 2012] As is expected with sound business practices and corporate responsibility, we here at Advanced Precision Machining (APM) make a sincere effort to keep customers informed of both successes and setbacks at our Longmont machine shop. It is commonly accepted knowledge that the economic environment is improving, and as mentioned in a previous post, the CNC machining industry is subject to the cyclical nature of the rebounding economy. At APM, our high speed machine shop did experience a second quarter slowdown, but with a loyal customer base and an influx of new contracts, quarters three and four are anticipated to be the best on the books.

In fact, inquires from Denver, to Boulder, to Fort Collins and beyond are up. Our customer base is expanding as engineers need precision machine shops with machine time. Everyone it seems, gets busy at once as the business climate evolves. As a result, our competitive quotes are up, and APM's reputation for a quality end product has even resulted in other machine shops outsourcing precision machining work to APM. We are very proud to have earned this reputation and will perform our competitors' work to the same exacting standards our customers have come to rely on from our precision manufacturing company. Our largest customers, we are happy to report, know our CNC machined products well and have stuck by our side. Their repeat and loyal business is founded on our high-end work and attention to detail, resulting in many new orders, insuring our stability in 2012 and beyond.

On the technical side, we continue to take advantage of our growth and good fortune. Our future is focused on ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Certification, and the procurement of new machinery. For those "in the know," ISO standards further insure that our Longmont machine shop outputs a product that is of the highest quality, reliable and safe. In our commitment to producing the most precise machined parts, on our wish list is a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), preferably a Browne or Sharpe model. These 3-D devices more precisely measure the physical and geometrical aspects of an object needing to be machined. With the continued support of our loyal customers, and our efforts in attracting and satisfying new business, these goals are within our grasp this year. Thank you again for your patronage and we'll keep you posted.
